PAS WORKSHOP CHAIR-ELECT

We are pleased to open the call for applications for the PAS Workshop Chair-elect. This position is an outstanding academic pediatric leadership opportunity with a wide impact nationally and internationally across all domains of academic pediatrics. The successful candidate will serve as Chair-elect for PAS 2026, then transition to PAS Workshop Chair for 2027 and PAS 2028 Meetings.

PAS’ vision is a world with healthy children, adolescents, and families through advances in pediatric scholarship, The PAS program is chosen each year by the PAS Program Committee (PC). PAS Workshops are highly interactive educational sessions that address innovative ideas and learner-centered needs in a rigorous manner. These are a core element of the program. The PAS Workshop Chair, who reports to the PAS Program Chair and works closely with the PAS Program Staff, provides overall direction for the PAS Workshop domains and workshop review and selection to ensure alignment with the PAS vision.

Term: The selected candidate will be announced on March 12 and will serve a three-year term, July 1, 2025 – June 30, 2028. During the first year of service the PAS Workshop Chair-elect “shadows” the current PAS Workshop Chair for the PAS 2026 Meeting. In the second year, the Chair-elect transitions to Chair for the PAS 2027 and PAS 2028 Meetings. During the final year of service, a new Chair-elect will team with the Chair providing continuity for the Workshop Committee and the PAS staff.

Support: The Workshop Chair-elect and Chair receive full support to attend the PAS Meeting as well as any in-person Program Committee or Workshop Committee meetings. Administrative support is provided by the PAS Office.

PAS Workshop Chair-Elect

  • As chair-elect, you will work in a shadowing manner with the current chair from June 30, 2025 – July 1, 2026, and represent PAS as the Workshop Chair for the 2027 and 2028 meeting.

The PAS Workshop Chair

  • Chairs the PAS Workshop Committee, a subgroup of the PAS Program Committee.
  • Provides oversight of the workshop submission, review, and selection process; analyzes feedback and identifies opportunities for program refinement.
  • Reviews final PAS Workshop selections with the PAS Program Chair; adjudicates any selection adjustments to reduce overlap or to coordinate with other elements of the program, if needed.
  • Ensures delivery of a PAS Workshop program that supports the vision of PAS.
  • Meets regularly with PAS Staff; advises on Workshop-related quality improvement processes.
  • Works with the Chair-elect during year three to ensure a smooth transition of the Chair’s responsibilities.
  • Serves as a voting member of the PAS Program Committee Leadership Team (PCLT).

Applicants MUST:

  • Be a member in good standing of a PAS partner or alliance organization (AAP, APA, APS, SPR and ASPN, PIDS)
  • Be able to attend the PAS 2026-2028 Meetings in Boston, Minneapolis, and Salt Lake City respective
